Rosses Point

 Ireland

A small seaside village with a rich heritage and tradition of seafaring. This beautiful area is today suffering the scars of indiscriminate and poorly designed (from an aesthetic perspective) development, such is life in Ireland in the new millennium.....and all done in the name of progress. But - the spirit lives on, most of the character prevails….and the excellent work of the Heritage Association will hopefully ensure that it will never be forgotten.

Despite overdevelopment, the area still retains a lot of it's beauty and has many attractions - unspoiled sandy beaches, a pier for the boating enthusiast, a yacht club ( Sligo Yacht Club) for the sailing enthusiast and for the golfers among you - one of the top rated and challenging links courses in the country (County Sligo Golf Club). Also, excellent hotels, pubs and restaurants.

My intention with this page is not to chronicle life in the village, but, to share some photographs of Rosses Point and surrounding area. With the exception of the first seven images, all photographs were taken by me using various Canon camera and lens combinations and some were scanned using MicroTek and Canon scanners.

......Please note that this page is image intensive and therefore may be slow to load. Thank you for your patience.
